Pesticide Free Organic Grub Service Option

  • We monitor and evaluate your property for evidence or grubs, chinch bugs and other pests
  • Upon finding an infestation Canadian Green will apply parasitic nematodes to the property

Monitoring for Grubs

Early detection and monitoring of your property is the best defense against large scale infestation. The optimum time for monitoring is May through June, monitoring can be as simple as:

  • Lifting sections of damaged sod up to 10 cm deep
  • Count and record the number of grubs in the up turned roots, an example of what you are looking for is above.
  • Replace the sod.

White Grub Facts

  • The common species to our service takes 3 years to develop
  • Grubs lay eggs in the late May to the beginning of June and the eggs hatch in a few weeks.
  • Grub larvae feed off the roots of grass on your property for the entire summer
  • This is evident by dead brown patches amongst green areas of turf.
  • In the spring/fall you will see turned over sod which is as a result of small mammals digging which often indicates the presence of grubs.
